Two lessons into Chua’s flamenco class and I already feel like I’m starting to get it despite how complex this style really is; I’d say that’s definitely down to Chua’s teaching as the steps are not as intuitive as they might look! She starts with pared-down basics then builds up and you get a real sense of progress throughout the lesson. Definitely recommend, whatever your level.
I contacted Chua at the last minute to see if I could drop in on her class later that day and she got back to me very quickly and invited me to attend. She is a wonderful teacher that allows you to learn at your own pace in a supportive but challenging environment. She and her students were very welcoming and I was able to learn a fair bit of technique as well as the structure of the dance form as a whole. Very good for students or travelers with uncertain schedules. I'm looking forward to studying with her more!
I would recommend each and everyone to attend sessions with Chua. I visited her from India with my students and it was incredible. She puts personalized attention and energy into making it a life long learning. It is worth. You are missing if you are not doing it.
A wonderful person that both inspires and awes, Chua is a beautiful soul inside and out. I had the great pleasure of taking a week intensive with her to learn the basics of flamenco. It was certainly eye opening about the difficulty of the dance but also extremely good fun. Chua is a great teacher that really works with you and explains things so you can understand them. Her experience and talent make her the perfect teacher and anyone would be happy to take classes from her. I know I was.
I came to Granada on a immersion trip while learning the Spanish language. It was an amazing experience and we got individual and personalised attention while learning the basics of Flamenco. I would highly recommend the teacher, to learn this part of the culture of Spain.
